EKA and Log9 Partners For Advanced Fast-Charging Battery Solution

EKA, electric vehicles and technologies company, has partnered with Log9 Materials, a Bengaluru-based battery technology startup for advanced fast-charging solutions for commercial vehicles. EKA's new energy vehicles, notably the newly revealed EKA E9 electric bus, will be benefitted from Log9's advanced fast-charging battery technology RapidX as part of this partnership. Aside from that, the RapidX will help EKA's upcoming light commercial vehicles.

EKA is a subsidiary of Pinnacle Industries, India's largest automotive seats, interiors, and specialty vehicle producer, and one of only three commercial vehicle manufacturers certified under the Government of India's Auto PLI policy's Champion OEM Scheme.

Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Chairman, EKA & Pinnacle Industries Limited, spoke about the relationship. We are pleased to announce this new strategic alliance with Log9, a leading Indian battery technology company. At EKA, we are committed to providing a solid platform for sustainable, efficient, reliable public & commercial transport in cities, and our collaboration with Log9 is another step to strengthen our commitment. We look forward creating a new ecosystem in global CV electric mobility that is equipped with powerful technology for mass adaptation."

RapidX batteries from Log9 are the first of their kind in India for electric buses and SCVs. They have a 15-year warranty, a long cycle life (greater than 15,000 charge-discharge cycles), and are powered by InstaCharge battery technology, which allows for charging in under 30 minutes on both the EKA LCV and e-Bus platforms.

The InstaCharge battery technology enables 9x quicker charging, 9x greater performance, and 9x longer battery life. Log9 has taken use of its cell-to-pack expertise to create InstaCharge batteries. The InstaCharge technology from Log9 reduces overall charging time, allowing commercial vehicles to make better use of charging infrastructure and increase operating profitability.

EKA has unveiled the EKA E9, its first 9-meter pure electric and zero-emission bus, which boasts a fresh streamlined vehicle design, increased power, and range owing to its monocoque stainless steel chassis and entire composite construction.
