The Figo is one of the best selling vehicles for Ford India. According to reports, the Ford Figo will come with the 1.2 T-GDI mStallion engine when the new generation is introduced by the end of 2021.
The engine, which features direct injection and turbocharging produces 130 BHP and 230 Nm of torque. This engine has been developed by Mahindra. The joint venture between Ford and Mahindra allows both the brands to share engines and other technologies. And the next generation Figo shall receive the 1.2 mStallion due to the same.

The mStallion range of engines were first showcased earlier this year during the Auto Expo and made their formal debut in August 2020 when the Thar was launched with the 2.0 mStallion T-GDI engine. However, the 1.2 mStallion TGDI is yet to make its debut. It is expected to power the XUV3OO sportz as well which was due to be launched this year but got postponed due to the pandemic.
It is also reported that the next-generation EcoSport will also be powered by the same engine. If it happens, the 1.2 T-GDI unit will be replacing the older EcoBoost unit and will make the next-gen EcoSport stronger by 7 BHP and 60 Nm of torque.
When launched, the Ford Figo with the 1.2 mStallion engine will become the most powerful hatchback in the country. It is also expected that the new Ford Figo will come with both automatic and manual gearbox options with the automatic option being available at least in the top trims.

The new-gen Ford Figo 1.2 T-GDI will go up against the Polo TSI, Grand i10 NIOS Turbo and the i20 Turbo when it will be launched. It would be fair to expect the prices to be within the range of 7-11 lakhs (ex-showroom).
