Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has unveiled a sweeping new vision for the future of mobility at EICMA 2025 in Milan. Under its electric sub-brand VIDA, the company showcased an extensive lineup of electric scooters, motorcycles, and off-roaders, alongside new internal combustion engine (ICE) models. Hero At EICMA 2025
Hero MotoCorp at EICMA introduced the all-new VIDA Novus series, global e-motorcycles, and off-road electric concepts, alongside two new Euro5+ compliant ICE models - the Hunk 440 SX and Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition. Let's take you through each vehicle below:
VIDA Novus
Hero MotoCorp unveiled the VIDA Novus lineup - three electric mobility concepts that embody the brand's philosophy, Life is Movement. These new-age designs aim to redefine personal mobility with a strong focus on intelligence, sustainability, and adaptability.
- NEX 1 - Portable and personal mobility device designed to move seamlessly with users, offering flexibility beyond traditional scooters.
- NEX 2 - A self-balancing electric trike that merges motorcycle-like excitement with three-wheel practicality, tailored for urban environments.
- NEX 3 - Compact, four-wheel personal EV that ensures all-weather safety and versatility for both city and rural commutes. Yes, the PR says four-wheels.
Along with this, Hero expanded the VIDA lineup with the VX2 urban scooter in Europe, offering a 125 km range, 90 km/h top speed, and twin removable batteries. This scooter was launched in India a few months ago, starting at Rs 99,490 (ex-showroom). Moreover, the brand also presented two e-motorcycle concepts.
- VIDA Ubex: A Neo-Naked urban explorer with modular design and smart connectivity.
- VIDA Project VxZ: Co-developed with Zero Motorcycles USA, showcasing high-performance EV capabilities.
New ICE Models
- Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition: Inspired by Hero's FIM World Title and Dakar Rally success, the Dakar Edition is powered by a 210cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine. It features rally-grade, fully adjustable suspension with 280mm of travel and 270mm of ground clearance, making it ideal for extreme off-road conditions while remaining compliant with Euro5+ emission standards.
- Hunk 440 SX: A modern scrambler powered by a 440cc oil-cooled long-stroke engine with Ride-by-Wire technology. It offers multiple ride modes, switchable ABS, traction control, and a durable perimeter frame with long-travel suspension. With its Euro5+ compliance, the Hunk 440 SX merges rugged adventure capability with refined performance.
Verdict
Hero MotoCorp's EICMA 2025 showcase reflects solid progress toward sustainable mobility, though much of it remains at a concept stage. The VIDA lineup shows ambition, especially with the VX2 and new e-motorcycle prototypes, but real-world performance and market readiness will determine their impact. While Hero's push for electrification is commendable, the brand still needs to prove how effectively it can translate these global aspirations into practical, competitive products for consumers.
