India's First Affordable True Maxi Scooter By Keeway : Launch Soon!

India is a huge market for two wheelers ranging from gearless scooters to all kinds of bikes. We are being soon introduced with a new affordable Maxi scooter by Keeyway. Keeyway is a Hungarian two wheeler brand which is planning to release India's first affordable maxi scooter. Stay tuned for further details of Keeway maxi Scooter.

Keeway is a Hungarian two wheeler brand which is currently owned by a Chinese company, QJ Group, which also owns Benelli. The brand is planning its entry in India on the 17th of May as per the reports. It is likely to debut with two offerings this month which would be a maxi scooter and a cruiser.

The Keeway 280cc Maxi Scooter is powered by a single cylinder engine manufactured by Piaggio which puts out 19 bhp power and 22.5 N-m of peak torque while being coupled with a CVT transmission. This engine features an advanced fuel injection system and is liquid cooled.

This Maxi Scooter provides a comfortable ride as it is equipped with premium KYB suspension with a single 35 mm telescopic shock absorber in the front and twin shock absorber system at the rear. It features a decent stopping potential with 240 mm front disk rotors and 220 mm disk rotors at the rear. It is offered with 13 inch alloy wheels with a front profile of 110/70 and rear profile of 130/70.

The Keeway Maxi Scooter is 1955 mm long, 740 mm ride and has a height of 1115 mm. With these proportions, it gets a 9.5 litre fuel tank which takes care of the appeal with a friendly seat height of 770 mm. The wheelbase is 1385 mm long with a ground clearance of 115 mm and weighs around 150 kilograms.

The Keeway maxi scooter can compete with the Suzuki Burgman and Aprilia SX which are powered by small engines with a displacement below 200 cc. These scooters are not true maxi scooters in real sense but as per the pricing, the Keeway does not have any direct competitors. It would be priced somewhere around two lakh rupees.
