Volkswagen Group has major plans for the Indian market in the coming future and one of the main highlights of this event was the Skoda Vision IN concept. The German group showcased the Kia Seltos rival and revealed insights about the engine specifications, features and hinted the launch.

Sharing more details about the concept version of the Skoda Vision IN then it'll be a major development for the manufacturer. It'll come under Group 2.0 and will utilize the much-awaited MQB AO IN platform. With this Skoda will also mark its entry in the mid-size SUV segment.

The design of the Skoda Vision IN borrows some style from the Kamiq which is sold internationally. The upcoming SUV will carry LED headlights and taillights with a striking light bar at the rear profile. It will be offered in a bright orange metallic exterior shade which Skoda says convey a zest for life and creativity.

The SUV gets large air intakes at the front, roof rails, plastic body cladding all over the body split headlight design. Dimension wise the SUV measures 4,256 mm in length and wheelbase sticking to 2,671 mm. It sits on 19-inches wheels.

The interiors too receive orange highlights at the dash, front armrest, door panels and centre console. Notice the free standing large touchscreen infotainment system along with virtual instrumental cluster. It gets three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel which will get voice command and audio control features. It also receives a large panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, lane assist, drive modes, USB ports at the rear.

Under the hood, the Skoda IN Concept will get a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0L turbo petrol engine. The former will be tuned to make 150 PS of power on tap. The Czech manufacturer will bring the SUV in a petrol engine only. The oil burner will be ditched by the carmaker.

Several reports suggest that the SUV will launch in April-June 2021, even before the Volkswagen launches its mid-size SUV based on the same platform. Once launched, it will rival with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Mahindra XUV500 and MG Hector.
