Finally, Mahindra has launched the teaser of the highly anticipated Mahindra Thar 5-door, which has been given a special moniker, Thar ROXX. According to the official video, it will be launched on 15th August 2024. This is big news for all Thar fans, as the 5-door Thar will finally be available after undergoing extensive testing over the past few months. Why is it called Mahindra Thar ROXX?
Earlier, it was rumored that the 5-door version would be called Thar Armada. However, Mahindra has named it Thar ROXX. According to the press release, the company states that 'ROXX' embodies the personality of a rockstar, with an extra 'X' to depict the X-factor of sophistication and performance. To add more, the tagline for this vehicle is 'THE' SUV.
The Styling Updates of the Mahindra Thar ROXX
According to the official teaser, this will features 5-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels, which look handsome and indicate that this SUV is designed to be more practical and will cater to a larger section of society. Additionally, the front grille is new and more refined, and I also spotted a camera on it, suggesting that this car will come with a 360-degree camera.
Also, the headlights are now fully LED. The teaser shows a glimpse of the new lights, which feature ring-shaped LED DRLs and LED projector headlamps in between. Additionally, the fog lamps have also been upgraded to full LED. Plus, the rear end showcases brand-new taillights with C-shaped LED lights, which appear sharper and slimmer than those on the regular 2-door Thar.
The official teaser also hints at the side view mirrors, but they don't look any different from those on the 2-door Thar. They might be bigger, but this isn't confirmed.
Overall, the this SUV looks significantly bigger in the full pictures. Now that it is a 4-door SUV, the company has added a side step to make it easier for everyone to climb into the vehicle, with a ground clearance of over 210 mm.
