Mahindra XEV 9S Teaser Revealed

The latest teaser offers a clearer look at the XEV 9S's premium interiors, showcasing a Harman Kardon audio system, a power-adjustable driver's seat with memory, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and a triple-screen digital cockpit similar to the XEV 9e. It also highlights a sliding second row for easier third-row access, an openable panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and several convenience touches like toggle-style switches and gloss-black interior finishes. Even practicality hasn't been ignored; the teaser hints at a spacious frunk, fold-flat rear seats, and Level 2 ADAS safety tech. Additionally, it comes loaded with a comprehensive range of connectivity features, powered by Mahindra's new MAIA (Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture) platform.

Battery, Range And Pricing

Mahindra is expected to equip the XEV 9S with the same battery choices offered on the XEV 9e: a 59 kWh unit and a larger 79 kWh pack. In the XEV 9e, these deliver a certified driving range of 542 km and 656 km, respectively. The smaller battery is paired with a 170 kW (231 PS) motor, while the bigger pack is matched to a 210 kW (285 PS) setup, both producing 380 Nm of torque. Although Mahindra hasn't disclosed the official range figures for the three-row XEV 9S yet, it's reasonable to expect real-world numbers to cross the 500-km mark. Meanwhile, for the pricing, early estimates suggest a starting point near Rs 21 lakh, with the top-spec variants likely approaching the Rs 30 lakh bracket.

Verdict
Mahindra's latest teaser makes one thing clear: the XEV 9S is shaping up to be far more than just a three-row extension of the XEV 9e. With a tech-packed cabin, premium comfort features, strong battery options and the promise of real-world usability, the XEV 9S is positioning itself as a serious family-friendly EV with aspirations to redefine the segment. If Mahindra nails the pricing, this could easily become one of the most compelling electric SUVs in the country.
