Mahindra XUV.e9 Interiors Spied: Large Screen, New Steering, More

The upcoming Mahindra XUV.e9, an all-electric SUV coupe, has been spotted testing internationally, offering a glimpse of its interior and design. Anticipated to be launched in April 2025, the XUV.e9 will position itself higher than the XUV.e8 in Mahindra's electric vehicle lineup. It will be built on the INGLO architecture.

Mahindra XUV.e8 Interior Spied

The interior spy shots of the Mahindra XUV.e9 reveal a layout similar to the XUV.e8, featuring a large screen stretching from pillar to pillar. This setup includes three 12.3-inch displays with high resolution. The interior also showcases a two-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, two dials, and a gear shift lever. Trapezoidal central air-con vents, climate control knobs, and square-ish side AC vents are visible. The top variant is expected to offer features like a Head-Up Display (HUD) with augmented navigation, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, and Level 2 Autonomous Driving.

While still unclear, the visuals hint at a probable digital steering wheel like the one we have seen on Tata's newly launched facelifts this year,

Styling

The test mule of the Mahindra XUV.e9, though heavily camouflaged, reveals some details. The closed-off grille area signifies its status as an electric vehicle (EV), and there's a slot above the grille, possibly for a full-width LED band. Despite the presence of halogen headlights on the test mule, LED units are expected on the production version. The rear of the vehicle features a raked roofline, suggesting the XUV.e9, with a large rear spoiler that might house tail-lights and an LED light band. Flush door handles, similar to the concept, are also visible on the test car.

Mahindra XUV.e9: Battery And Range

The Mahindra XUV.e9 is expected to share its battery pack and motor options with the XUV.e8. The range-topping variant is likely to feature an 80kWh battery powering two motors (one on each axle), simulating an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configuration. Power outputs are anticipated to range between 230hp and 350hp. Mahindra claims that the battery pack should offer a range of 435-450km under WLTP testing norms.
