Mahindra XUV700 AWD Now Available From AX7 Trim Onwards

Until now, the Mahindra XUV700, for those who wanted the more off-road friendly variant with the AWD, came with just the top-spec AX7L trim, which costs Rs. 24.99 lakhs ex-showroom, making for a pretty steep ask. Now, with an aim to democratise the more capable drivetrain, the brand now offers it from the second-top model, the AX7 variant, where it now starts at Rs. 22.89 lakhs ex-showroom. This will surely help in increasing the mass appeal (not that it is in any way less)even more, especially with those who borderline on this budget and hope for a family-friendly SUV that can venture off the roads as well.

The AX7 trim of the Mahindra XUV700 comes packed with a premium and tech-laden feature list aimed at enhancing comfort, safety, and convenience. It gets a fully digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS that includes features like driver drowsiness detection, lane keep assist, and others, side airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and more. Other notable highlights include R18 diamond-cut alloy wheels, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, leatherette seats and IP, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear lever, and a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat with memory and welcome retract function, Intelli Control, steering-mounted controls with a custom key, power-folding ORVMs, dual-zone climate control, making the AX7 a well-rounded and feature-rich offering.

Verdict
The move to introduce the AWD funtionality to a lower trim is a power move that will attract more buyers. As for the XUV700 as a whole, it is a pretty well equipped SUV that still has a good demand even after years of launch. Not to forget that Mahindra is equally focing on its electric range that has the BE6, XEV 9e and other upcoming models that could shape up its portfolio in a more balanced electric and ICE powered offerings.
