MG Motor E200 will be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. India launch?

MG Motor will showcase the two-seater urban E200 electric car at the 2020 Auto Expo which will be held from 7-12 February. The E200 sells in China under Baojun which is a subsidiary of SIAC-GM-Wuling Automotive alliance and MG motor is also the subsidiary of the given alliance.

MG E200 is an urban 2-seater, 3-door electric hatch which offers over 250 km of range on a single charge. It is actually very compact in dimensions, figures being 2497*1526*1616 mm. Taking perspective, the smallest 4-wheel vehicle in India, the Bajaj Qute has dimensions of 2752*1312*1652 mm (L*W*H). It might be small in dimensions, but it has a lot to offer and actually is safer than other small vehicles. It features ABS, EBD, ESP, driver airbag, ISOFIX seats, front and rear disc brakes, Front McPherson Independent Suspension, electric parking brake and semi-autonomous driving which features cameras and radar to drive the car automatically.

Talking about mechanicals, It comes with a high-density 29kW permanent magnet synchronous motor which offers 38.88 Hp and 110 Nm of torque with a top speed of under 100 km/h. As we told earlier, it offers a range of 250 km and can be charged with a home charger with a charging time of 10 hours for the 20-100% juice up. Baojun offers 8 yrs or 120000 km warranty for the E200.

Other convenience features like a 7-inch driver's display, power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, AIr conditioning, 4-way adjustable seats, push-button start, multi-function steering wheel, LED headlights and taillights, reversing camera, tyre pressure monitoring system and low-speed pedestrian warning system have also been offered.

MG Motor will showcase the E200 at the 2020 Auto Expo from 5th February to 12 February but we suspect its launch possibility. E200 is an urban electric car for developed countries and without proper charging infrastructure, India misses on both for now.

MG Motor will showcase its ambition of future electric mobility which they will perceive in the near future with keeping the market conditions in mind. We can expect some great electric cars from the British intended Chinese manufacturer in future but for now, we are happy with the ZS EV which is launching on 23rd January.
