Just last year Mini Cooper introduced 'John Cooper Works' aka the JCW in India which packed in more power and was customisation friendly. And now they have introduced a less subtle trim of Mini Cooper which goes by the name Sidewalk Edition and we wonder if it'll come to India?

Starting with the interiors first, it comes with Leather Lounge Sidewalk Anthracite upholstery, steering wheel wrapped in sport leather, interior illumination colour and Sidewalk edition floor mats. The dashboard, seats and door panels see blue stitching and the contrast stitching sticks with yellow and grey colour.
One can choose from two shades that are Deep Laguna Blue Metallic or Mini Yours Enigmatic Blue Metallic. It gets Anthracite roof and also Sidewalk edition graphics. This edition also gets a special 17-inches Scissor Spoke 2-tone alloy wheels.
It also comes with other features like LED treatment on the headlights, fog lights and taillamps. It gets keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, heads-up display, power-folding side mirrors, large 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit.
Under the hood, this Sidewalk Edition remains unchanged. It gets the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which makes 189 PS and a peak torque of 280 Nm. Transmission sticks to a 6-speed manual gearbox and 0-96 km/h sprint is achieved in a flat 6.7 seconds. The Mini Sidewalk can be available with a Dual Clutch automatic gearbox too but that costs a premium.

As of now, it is not sure whether the Mini Cooper Sidewalk Edition will come to India or not. If it comes then it might get a single DSG gearbox and will sit below the Mini Cooper JCW edition. The Mini Cooper is available in both diesel and petrol engines, the convertible option sticking with the latter.
