From Maruti Swift To Polo And Fiat Abarth - 5 Modified Hatchbacks In India

Just recently we shared a list of modified Honda City's across India and to keep you entertained in this lockdown, we have now compiled another list. This list basically involves modified hatchbacks in India and range from Maruti Swift to Fiat Abarth Punto!

Before we go any further, we should tell that these are not just customised exteriors but include performance upgrades too!

Maruti Swift
Engine - 1.3L DDiS Diesel
Power after mod - 115 bhp, 240 Nm

This Swift right here is undoubtedly the meanest looking modified hatchbacks across India. Sure, there are some Swift's with more customised options but this one right here does gets a performance upgrade. We know that the 1.3L DDiS Diesel had a turbo lag so with the help of a diesel tuning box, this Swift now gets 115 bhp with a 240 Nm of peak torque. That's a jump of straight 40 Bhp and 50 Nm of torque.

Other mods on this Swift includes custom-sized 17-inch alloy wheels, wide body kit, aftermarket projector headlights and LED taillights, a roof-mounted spoiler, twin exhaust pipes and more!

Volkswagen Polo
Engine - 1.2L GT TSI
Power after mod - 123 bhp, 225 Nm

This modified Polo belongs from down South and comes with a Stage 1 Remap and is also nicknamed as 'Pataka'. It gets a Grid7 Custom exhaust system, with Valvetronic Unit. It also gets BMW Intake filter with KW Street Comfort Suspension Upgrade. Phew, the mod list isn't over yet!

The owner has also got GTI styled projector headlights and at the rear sees custom diffuser. It gets 18-inch low profile alloy wheels and a Webasto sunroof. The steering wheel of this hatch is upgraded and now sees a flat bottom unit with paddle shifters.

Fiat Punto Abarth
Engine - 1.4L Turbocharged Petrol
Power after mod - 170 bhp, 270 Nm

The Punto Abarth is the user-friendly hatchback which can be easily modified. It's true that the Fiat died a slow death in the Indian market but they surely produced some of the great cars. This Abarth hatchback used to make 145 bhp with 212 Nm of torque when it was in its stock form. Well, not now as this hatch is modified by Pete's and the updated figures are 170 bhp with 270 Nm of torque. Sharing more details about this mod then it also gets Bilstein suspension for sharper handling and 205 section Yokohama tyres for better grip.

Ford Figo
Engine - 1.5L Diesel
Power - 100 bhp+ and 220 Nm+

There are two types of car enthusiasts - ricers and sleepers. Well, this Ford Figo definitely belongs to a sleeper enthusiast who kept his Ford Figo clean and opted for performance upgrades. The hatch surely looks dope and classy!

This Figo gets a 1.5L diesel engine and now sees Stage2 Code6 tuning performance tune, Grid7 custom performance exhaust triple S lowering springs, BMC intake filter and is wrapped in 205/40 17 inches alloy wheels in Nankang rubber.

Maruti 'Lamborghini' Baleno
Engine - 1.2L Petrl
Power - 83 bhp, 113 Nm

We took this specific Baleno because of the Lamborghini doors and the red paint job which makes it stand out from the crowd (no doubt in that). Like the Swift from Maruti, Baleno is too capable of aftermarket changes and that comes out the best.

This right here is customised with 360 Motoring and has been done in a sporty red shade with gloss black contrasting colour on the roof, wing mirrors and inserts of the front and rear bumper. The rear bumper gets highlighted black section which sure gives it a taste of a high-performance sports car. The 'Lamborghini' style doors on this Baleno do give it an edgy look and the low profile ten-spoke alloy wheels make it an eye candy. The size of alloy wheels is not mentioned but we believe it runs on 17-inchers.
