Two New Hero Electric Scooters In July 2025

Hero MotoCorp's electric arm, Vida, has been steadily gaining traction in the fast-evolving EV two-wheeler market. While rivals like TVS, Bajaj, and Ola continue to dominate the space, Vida's recent performance has been a notable step forward. In FY 2024-25, Hero sold 58,503 units of its Vida electric scooters, marking a significant 195% jump over the previous year. Building on this momentum, the company is now preparing to expand its EV portfolio with two new, more affordable electric two-wheelers, expected to launch by July 2025.

The current Vida lineup is already priced aggressively, starting at Rs 74,000 and going up to Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Yet, Hero seems determined to push the affordability envelope even further with its upcoming electric scooters. One of them, likely to be called the Vida Z, has already been spotted testing. In a strategic move, Hero also plans to focus on expanding its EV footprint in rural markets this year, a space where the brand enjoys deep trust and widespread reach.

Hero Vida Z Details
The recently spotted Hero Vida Z, seen in a vibrant yellow shade and without any camouflage, where this near-production unit appears to differ slightly from the versions showcased at the 2024 EICMA and 2025 Auto Expo, most notably missing the signature orange detailing and the pillion backrest.

Stylistically, the Vida Z opts for a smoother, more refined front apron compared to the sharper lines of the existing V2 range. Still, it retains several familiar design elements, such as the LED headlamp setup, the signature LED tail-lamp design, and sleek turn indicators. The hardware appears largely unchanged from the V2 series as well, with features like dual-spoke alloy wheels, a front disc brake, telescopic forks, and twin rear shocks. What sets the Vida Z apart is its integrated connectivity suite. It's expected to come with a smart cloud-based system allowing remote diagnostics, geofencing alerts, anti-theft immobilization, and OTA updates. Add to that a touch-enabled TFT display, redesigned handlebar, and thoughtfully placed visual accents, and the Vida Z is shaping up to be both a functional and futuristic addition to the portfolio.
Verdict
Hero Electric is getting traction slowly even though it gets tough fight from other rivals like the TVS, Ola, Bajaj, Ather, and others. However, it is the brand name and the market penetration that works in favour of Hero and playing on the affordablity has its own perks. With two new models in pipeline for the coming months, it will be an intersting sight to see if all these efforts work for the brand.
