Nissan Kicks Pros And Cons - Better Than Creta/Seltos?

The Nissan Kicks is one of the best cars in the segment and not only offers capable and powerful engine options but also comes with an exciting design language and premium interiors. With the rivals like the Creta and the Seltos dominating the market, is the Nissan Kicks a great choice for the buyers? Check out all the Nissan Kicks pros and cons to find it out.

Nissan Kicks Pros And Cons

Pros:

1. Design Language

The Nissan Kicks is a great looking SUVs and gets an aggressive and a unique front fascia which definitely looks appealing. In addition, the side profile, as well as the rear profile of the vehicle, maintains it's elegant and a subtle look, making it one of the best looking vehicles in the segment.

2. Ride-Handling Balance

The overall suspension tuning of the Kicks gives it a great balance between ride and handling. The car gets sorted driving dynamics and at the same time, the suspension is soft enough to absorb most of the jerks and potholes making the ride quality supremely compliant.

3. Premium and Comfortable Interiors

The interiors of the Kicks are of high quality and feel extremely premium and nicely put together. In addition to this, the quality of the plastics is top-notch and the upholstery material too feels premium and soft.

4. Features

The Kicks come with a long list of features which make it a fairly VFM product when compared to its direct rivals. To name a few, the Nissan Kicks come with features like a 360-degree camera and voice assist.

5. Powerful Engine Options

Powering the Nissan Kicks are two engine options - 1.3-L Turbo and a 1.5-L naturally aspirated petrol engine. While the 1.5-L engine has impressed us with its refinement and a matured power delivery, the 1.3-L engine remains my preferred choice. The performance from the turbo engine is great and definitely at par, if not better, to what the rivals offer.

Nissan Kicks Pros And Cons

Cons:

1. No Diesel Engine

With the BS6 norms coming into action, the brand discontinued its diesel engine offerings and a diesel engine is definitely being missed in the Kicks. The rivals like the Creta and the Seltos do offer a competent diesel engine and the sales figures do suggest that there is a decent demand for diesel vehicles in the market.

2. Less Practical

While the interiors feel premium and nicely put together, there is a serious dearth of storage spaces which makes it less practical for day to day usage. Better space management by the brand would have made it a great vehicle to live with.

3. Steering Wheel

The driving dynamics of this vehicle are impressive but the steering wheel is on the heavier side making it a difficult vehicle to drive at slow speeds. If you are someone who does not visit the gym regularly, be prepared to have a tiring experience while navigating this car through city traffic.

4. After-Sales Support

The after-sales support from Nissan is still not at par to what the rivals offer. Moreover, the total number of service stations across India remain low and the brand definitely has a lot of scope of improvement in this department.

5. Resale Value

If you are someone who regularly upgrades or changes his/her vehicle after using them for a couple of years, the Nissan Kicks may not be a great choice for you. The car has a lower resale value when compared to its rivals but on the plus side, since its a slow-moving product, you may get a great deal while purchasing this vehicle.
