Ola Electric Scooter To Be Launched In India In 2021: Acquires Amsterdam-based Etergo BV

It is a known fact that Electric Mobility is the future and thus every company is working in the direction of developing EVs. Bengaluru-based Ola Electric has today marked its entry into the premium electric two-wheeler space both globally as well as nationally. The Indian company has announced that to push its project further ahead, it has acquired Amsterdam-based electric scooter manufacturer called Etergo BV. The company will soon foray into the electric scooter market and the first Ola Electric Scooter will be launched in India in 2021.

Etergo BV is a Netherland-based company headquartered in Amsterdam. This innovative electric scooter maker is just around half-decade old and its biggest success till date is the AppScooter. The AppScooter was first unveiled in 2018 and it uses a swappable battery tech and delivers 240 kilometres of riding range and class-leading acceleration. The AppScooter has also won multiple awards across the world for its innovative design and engineering. Ola Electric believes that electric two-wheelers are the most efficient and cleanest solution for urban mobility and they will become even more relevant in future.

Ola Electric has been the pioneer in working towards building the electric vehicle ecosystem to enable clean kilometres at scale. With European design, strong engineering collaboration and Indian manufacturing & supply chain, Ola Electric aims to transform the 100-million+ global two-wheeler market, including the 20-million+ Indian two-wheeler market into clean energy and digital future. The company plans to set up extensive charging and swapping networks across the country with a major focus on two and three-wheelers. It aims to build a suite of electric and smart urban mobility solutions for global citizens.
