Skoda India, which is currently heading the India 2.0 strategy will launch a slew of cars in the Indian market this year. The manufacturer has already lined up several vehicles for the Indian market, and one of the most critical unveiling by the manufacturer will be the Skoda Vision IN concept. The vehicle will be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Skoda has officially revealed a new teaser video of the Vision IN concept SUV that reveals the highlights of the vehicle. To start with, the Skoda Vision IN will get prominent two-slat grille that has become a new family design language of the brand. The grille gets the illuminated Skoda logo. Surrounded by the thick chrome grille, the set-up looks quite premium.
There are split LED headlamps with exotic crystal elements. We don't think that the production version of the car will get such details, though. The overall design of the Skoda Vision IN is extremely premium, and it will have an immense road presence.
The cabin of the Skoda Vision IN will offer the same exuberant details. There will be double-stitching on the seats and the upholstery. Also, the Vision IN will get features like a multi-function flat-bottom steering wheel with knurled switches and various other buttons for the infotainment system and Bluetooth telephony. Since it is a concept version of the car, there will be Skoda's Virtual cockpit and a fully digital instrument. The digital instrument cluster may be available with the production version of the car too.
The Vision IN will be based on the MQB A0 platform and will be longer than 4-metres. It will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the likes in the Indian market.
Skoda will not offer diesel engine options in India after the BS6 implementation. There will be a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. Skoda may also offer a CNG variant of the vehicle.
The car will be launched in the Indian market by 2021 and is expected to get a premium price tag. This year, we will get to see cars like Skoda Octavia vRS, Skoda Karoq and Skoda Kamiq in the Indian market apart from the BS6 compliant Kodiaq and Rapid.
