BYD is all set to introduce its second product in India. The upcoming BYD Seal will debut on 5 March. Ahead of its official debut the specs and other details have leaked online. BYD Seal EV - Battery Range and Performance
The upcoming Seal will get a big 82.5kWh battery pack. This battery pack is equipped with the BYD-trademarked blade battery technology. It can be charged from 10-80 percent within 37 minutes, supporting up to 150kW of fast charging. A regular 11kW AC charger takes 8.6 hours to charge it from 0-100 percent.
This battery pack helps develop a peak power of 230 bhp and a peak torque of 360 Nm. The Seal EV is sold in RWD and AWD versions globally. In India, we might see the launch of RWD first and later the AWD version will follow. The 0-100 kmph mark is achieved in a claimed 5.9 seconds, indicating fast performance.
BYD Seal: Design, Features, and Price
Back in 2021, BYD introduced its Ocean X design platform. The Seal is based on the same. Hence, the sloping glass roof and boomerang LED DRLs along with stretched headlights hint ocean's aesthetics. Moreover, on the inside, it gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument console and a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment console. The rotating screen looks similar to the BYD Atto 3.
BYD India has scheduled the launch on 5 March in New Delhi. The Seal will directly rival the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6. The anticipated price of it will revolve around the Rs 50 lakh mark.
Verdict
With the good sales figures of Atto 3, BYD aims to strengthen its Indian footprint. Moreover, rivals of Seal are also doing good in sales. Hence, a new product will only glorify and strengthen the brand image in India. We're excited to get our hands on the Seal EV soon.
