BMW X6 M60i

BMW is preparing to expand its performance SUV lineup with the introduction of the BMW X6 M60i. The German carmaker has already commenced pre-bookings, indicating that the launch could take place very soon. Under the hood sits a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine paired with mild-hybrid technology. Producing 523 hp and 750 Nm, the coupe-SUV is capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmph in just 4.3 seconds. Power is channelled to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. Notably, the exact date is still under wraps.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift

Luxury car buyers have something special to look forward to as Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the arrival of the facelifted S-Class on June 15, 2026. The updated flagship sedan introduces a plug-in hybrid powertrain for the first time in India. The S 450e combines a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor and a 22 kWh battery pack. Together, the system develops 435 hp and 680 Nm while delivering a claimed 0-100 kmph time of 5.7 seconds. Apart from the new powertrain, the facelift brings substantial styling revisions including a larger illuminated grille, redesigned lighting elements and a more digital cabin experience.

Tata Sierra EV

One of the most significant upcoming car launches in June could be the Tata Sierra EV. Speculations of its launch have been quite consistent over the past months, and were postponed again and again, but this time, hopefully, the brand will deliver. Positioned below the Harrier EV in Tata's electric portfolio, the SUV is likely to be offered with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. While Tata has yet to disclose battery specifications, expectations point towards a real-world driving range exceeding 500 km. Design teasers suggest a closed-off front fascia, EV-specific styling cues, and aerodynamic alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin is expected to feature a brighter theme while retaining a dashboard layout similar to the upcoming ICE-powered Sierra.

New BYD Plug-In Hybrid

BYD is gearing up to enter India's plug-in hybrid segment for the first time. While the company has not officially confirmed the model, international products such as the Atto 2 and Sealion 6 are among the strongest possibilities. Both models combine petrol and electric power to deliver impressive driving ranges. Depending on the battery configuration, some international versions claim a combined range of nearly 1,000 km, while certain variants exceed the 1,090 km mark, but it remains to be seen what exactly makes its way here.

Honda ZR-V

Hondas newly showcased ZR-V is also expected to enter the market this month, with deliveries likely to commence shortly afterwards. Arriving as a completely built-up unit (CBU), the ZR-V will serve as Hondas flagship SUV offering in India. Power comes from a 2.0-litre strong-hybrid petrol powertrain paired with an e-CVT transmission, producing 184 hp and 315 Nm. The SUV combines sleek styling with a feature-rich cabin that includes powered front seats, a premium Bose audio system, a fully digital instrument cluster, and advanced driver assistance systems. Although the exact date is not yet out, the pricing will be on the steeper side, considering its CBU route into the country.

Verdict

This month could prove to be one of the most diverse months for upcoming car launches in June. Luxury buyers have the facelifted Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW X6 M60i to look forward to, while mainstream buyers may be more interested in the Honda ZR-V and Tata Sierra EV. Meanwhile, BYD's anticipated plug-in hybrid debut adds further excitement to an already packed launch calendar. With electrification, hybrid technology, luxury and performance all represented, June promises something for almost every type of car buyer.
