Citroen India is preparing to join the bandwagon of OEMs with Black Editions. The brand is planning to launch the Black Edition of its C3, Aircross, and the Basalt. The brand has released multiple teasers of the upcoming addition, and now a new teaser has revealed new details about the upcoming special edition. Citroen Black Edition
With the release of a new teaser, Citro뮠India has confirmed the launch of three Black Edition models: the C3, Aircross, and Basalt. These Black Edition versions are expected to debut in the coming weeks, joining the growing trend of black and dark-themed cars. In terms of design, these models will feature an all-black exterior paint and are likely to receive dark chrome accents on various elements. The alloy wheels, however, are expected to remain unchanged from the standard versions.
The interiors of the Black Edition models are expected to feature all-black seat covers, a black headliner, and gloss black or dark chrome accents on various elements. The feature set inside the cabin will remain unchanged. All three models will continue to offer a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, TPMS, six airbags, automatic climate control, LED headlamps, and more.
On the powertrain front, the Black Edition is expected to be based on the top-spec variants of the C3, Aircross, and Basalt. The Basalt comes with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine in its top-spec trim. The Aircross also features the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine in the Max variant, which is expected to be available in the Black Edition iteration. Lastly, the C3 Black Edition is expected to be offered exclusively in the Shine variant.
Verdict
Citroen India is set to unveil the special edition of its mass-market cars. The upcoming Black Editions are expected to attract more customers, with brand seemingly targeting young buyerst who are increasingly opting for dark editions over regular editions. Currently, the sales of Citroen India is not as good as the rivals available in the respective segments where brand operates.
