What's New On The 2025 Bajaj Pulsar 220F?

Updated Bajaj Pulsar 220F Launch At IBW 2025

The most significant update comes in the form of dual-channel ABS, making its debut on the Bajaj Pulsar 220F. This upgrade adds rear-wheel ABS to the existing front setup, significantly improving braking confidence and stability, especially during hard stops or on slippery surfaces. For a motorcycle that's often ridden spiritedly, this safety enhancement brings it in line with modern expectations. Bajaj has also refreshed the visual appeal of the Pulsar 220F with new colour schemes and bolder graphics.

Both new options are based on a black paint theme, paired with contrasting accents, one featuring red and grey highlights, while the other gets copper and grey detailing. The revised graphics are more prominent on the fuel tank and fairing, giving the motorcycle a sharper, more contemporary look. Additional touches include colour-coordinated rim stripes and updated carbon-fibre-style highlights on the side panels, subtly enhancing the bike's sporty stance without altering its core design.

Another welcome update is the replacement of the older halogen indicators with sleeker LED turn indicators, similar to those seen on Bajaj's newer and more premium offerings. The Pulsar 220F continues to feature projector headlamps, illuminated switchgear, and a fully digital LCD instrument cluster. The console supports Bluetooth connectivity, offering turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts through smartphone integration, ensuring the motorcycle remains practical for daily use as well as highway runs.

What Remains Unchanged?

Mechanically, the Pulsar 220F stays true to its roots. It continues to be powered by the familiar 220cc single-cylinder, air- and oil-cooled engine, producing around 20.6 bhp and 18.55 Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle also retains its steel tube frame, conventional telescopic front forks, and twin rear shock absorbers with preload adjustment. Braking hardware remains unchanged in size, with a 280mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, now supported by dual-channel ABS. The bike continues to roll on 17-inch alloy wheels, shod with a 90-section front and 120-section rear tyre.

The refreshed Pulsar 220F is expected to command a price premium of around Rs 6,000 -Rs 8,000 over the outgoing model. The current Pulsar 220F is priced from approximately Rs 1.27 lakh (ex-showroom). The official launch is likely to take place at the IBW event, scheduled for December 19-20, 2025, in Panchgani, Maharashtra.

Verdict

The updated Bajaj Pulsar 220F may not be an all-new motorcycle, but the additions it brings are both timely and meaningful. The introduction of dual-channel ABS significantly boosts safety, while refreshed graphics, LED indicators, and subtle design tweaks help modernise its appeal and add a bit of freshness to an otherwise legacy product. By retaining the proven engine and familiar riding dynamics, Bajaj ensures that long-time fans aren't alienated. For riders looking for a dependable, sporty and now safer semi-faired motorcycle with a strong record, the 2025 Pulsar 220F continues to make a strong case for itself, proving that icons don't always need reinvention, just thoughtful evolution.
