The Pulsar 150 is a beautiful and butch-looking sports commuter bike. It offers the iconic design of the Pulsar series along with the latest refined and fuel-efficient engine. With its big dimensions and good brand value, it is a decent product in its segment. The only things pulling it leg are the lack of modern features and good visual updates.

  • What we admire in this bike

    • Design looks aggressive despite being old
    • Gives a big bike feel to the rider
    • Engine performance is quick
    • Front disc brake offers good bite
    • Cheap maintenance costs
  • What could have been better

    • Fit & finish is still not as good as rivals
    • Engine buzzes in mid-range RPMs

Should I buy the Pulsar 150 Single Disc?

The Bajaj Pulsar 150 single disc is meant for buyers who love the design and looks of the old-gen Pulsar bikes. Despite being modern rivals, it is based on the same design. Also, the aggressive design is supported by the fast and exciting performance of the engine. The fuel economy is also decent as per its size. We recommend it to buyers who want a big bike feel within a strict price budget. Also, the exciting colour and graphic combo still turn heads on the road.

Design & Riding Comfort 7
  • The design of the Pulsar 150 is inspired by the iconic Pulsar bike. While the styling of it is getting old now, the bike still turns heads on the road. The road presence is also masculine and good for Pulsar 150. The rear tyre feels a bit thin compared to the overall dimensions and looks of the bike. Overall, the design is meant for cult Pulsar lovers who like the bike from the Stuntmania days.
  • Pulsar has always been a sporty bike to ride. Hence, the ride comfort of it is moderate. The handlebar is tilted towards the front while the footpegs are set a bit rear for the rider. Thus, the overall riding posture is sporty. It is meant for young buyers looking for an exciting city riding experience.

The TVS Apache RTR 160 2V is not a direct competitor of the Bajaj Pulsar 150 because of its bigger engine size, but, it is available at a similar price tag. The Apache is a better bike is every sense when compared to the Pulsar 150. It offers better performance, it has more colour options to choose from, and the exhaust sound of Apache is also more soothing. However, it isn’t cheaper to maintain in the long term than the Pulsar 150 is. Also, the Pulsar 150 offers more fuel economy inside the city.

Yamaha FZ FI is one of the prime rivals of the Bajaj Pulsar 150. The Japanese naked sports commuter offers a very good build quality along with fast and refined performance. The strong reliability of FZ and the latest features on offer make it a good value-for-money bike. However, its design is radical and the resale value is also not as strong as the Pulsar 150. Out of two, we recommend buying FZ due to its refined engine performance.

Excellent, comfortable, stable, easy to ride, and a standard family bike. Worth the price. I haven't seen any model like it since. I recommend it. I've been using it since 2010.

Good bike with a perfect balance of power and performance. Service and spare parts are easily available. The ride is comfortable, and even at high speeds above 85 km/h, the bike remains stable without wobbling.

A good bike in this price range with a powerful engine and comfortable seating. Maintenance cost is average, making it a reliable choice for everyone. The suspension system is also good. Overall, a well-rounded bike.

Good bike with the best offers and excellent mileage. These bikes are very useful for delivery workers. The offers are valuable since they don’t come continuously, only during festivals.

Yes, I like the Pulsar 150, but it could have better mileage. It’s a bike suitable for both youth and families. Easy to ride on highways as well as village roads.

Having ridden the Pulsar 150 for some time, I can confirm it lives up to its reputation. This motorcycle strikes a great balance between performance, comfort, and fuel efficiency, proving ideal for both urban commuting and highway travel. Its engine is smooth and dependable, and critically, maintenance costs are low with readily available spare parts. Ultimately, the Pulsar 150 is a great value-for-money package offering a combination of durability and pride of ownership.
