The Maruti Eeco continues to serve its purpose as a basic people mover aimed mainly at commercial users and large families on a tight budget. The proven, fuel-efficient petrol engine, low maintenance costs and immense space for passengers or cargo remain the strong points. However, the ageing design, basic safety kit and barebones feature list stop us from recommending it to private buyers. It is now offered with caption 2nd seats but ride remains bouncy. But with zero direct rival at this price point, the Eeco is a good choice for for fleet operators.

What we admire in this car

Has a very low maintenance cost and is an extremely reliable petrol engine.

It is a value-based 7-seater MPV with a CNG option and good boot space.

Sliding doors make it easy for in-rest eg-rest.

Massive glass areas make the cabin feel more airy.

The Maruti Suzuki Eeco is a cheap MPV. It comes in both 5 and 7-seater versions. It has a refined petrol engine with great fuel economy. The old-school design makes it outdated. But, its low price and practicality make it a top seller. Though you can find this vehicle a lot in cab operations that might be a deterrent.
