The Maruti Swift celebrates 20 years in India, having sold over 30 lakh units since its launch in 2005, cementing its status as one of the country’s most successful hatchbacks. The milestone highlights its consistent popularity across four generations, with the model continuing to be a key contributor to Maruti Suzuki’s overall sales.

The Maruti Swift, Brezza, and other Arena models have become costlier by up to Rs 32,500, with the Celerio seeing the highest hike among the lineup. The price revision varies across variants and models, while some cars like the WagonR, S-Presso, and Ertiga remain unaffected.

The Maruti Swift has been spotted testing with an ADAS suite, featuring a radar module in the grille and cameras on the ORVMs, indicating advanced safety tech like lane assist and blind-spot monitoring. However, this test model is likely an export-spec hybrid version, and it remains uncertain whether these features will make it to the India-spec car.

The Maruti Swift hybrid has been spotted testing in India without camouflage, clearly revealing a ‘smartHYBRID’ badge and confirming the addition of mild-hybrid tech. It is expected to use the same 1.2-litre Z-Series engine paired with a 12V hybrid system, aimed at improving efficiency and adding a slight performance boost.

The Maruti Swift Blitz Edition has been launched as a limited-run, accessorised version of the hatchback, aimed at boosting appeal of lower trims. It adds cosmetic upgrades like spoilers, body moulding, fog lamps, and illuminated door sills through a complimentary accessory package worth up to ?49,000, while retaining the same engine and pricing.
