Ampere Vehicles already had a lead-acid battery-powered Magnus electric scooter in its portfolio. The new 2020 Ampere Magnus Pro is a more enhanced version of the same. It has a muscular body and looks like a conventional petrol-powered scooter. This new Ampere Magnus Pro sports the same silhouette as the Magnus 60 E-scooter and boasts of high practicality. Upfront, it gets a new all-LED headlamp with twin LED DRLs mounted on the body panels. It also gets a lot of chrome accents which further enhance its appeal. The Magnus Pro electric scooter is offered in four funky colour shades. These are Bluish Pearl White, Graphite Black, Metallic Red and Golden Yellow.
Okinawa Ridge Plus is also a good-looking electric scooter. It doesn't look butch as its rival but has a very well-proportionate body and offers good practicality. It gets the main headlamp mounted on the front apron while the turn indicators are present on the handlebar. It also gets some chrome treatment on the handlebar to make it look a bit premium. The Ridge Plus gets metallic paint schemes and attractive body graphics. It is offered in four colour variants: Honeycomb Theme Purple, Honeycomb Theme Red, Lucent Orange with Magna Grey and Mid Night Blue. The new 2020 Ampere Magnus Pro electric scooter is powered by a hub-mounted 1.2kW electric motor. This motor has a peak power output of 1.2 kW (around 1.6 PS) and can sprint from 0-40 kmph in under 10 seconds. It has a claimed top speed of 55 kmph. It features a removable 60-volt 30Ah advanced lithium-ion battery and gets two different riding modes. The company claims that this new electric scooter will deliver 100 kilometres of range in Eco mode while in the Cruise mode it will run around 75-80 kilometres on a full charge. Once the battery is drained, it can be fully juiced up in around 5 to 6 hours via a regular charger. However, the company also says that a fast charging option is available.

The Okinawa Ridge Plus, on the other hand, gets an 800-watt hub-mounted brushless DC motor with a peak power output of 1.7 kW (around 2.2 PS). It has a claimed top speed of 45 kmph, however, in real-world scenarios, the speedo indicated top-speed climbs even up to 55 kmph. Like the Magnus Pro, it also gets a lithium-ion battery pack. It features a 60-volt 26Ah (1.74 kWh) lithium-ion battery and gets two different riding modes, Eco and Sport. According to the company, the Ridge Plus has an ARAI-certified range of 84 kilometres per charge. Once the battery runs out of juice, it can be fully charged in just around 2-3 hours, which is pretty awesome. Also, both the electric scooters are waterproof, so buyers need not worry about it.

The Ampere Magnus Pro gets telescopic front forks, spring-loaded dual shock absorbers at the rear and rides on 10-inch tubeless tyres for better riding experience. The braking duties are handled by 130 mm drum brake at both the ends and it also gets combined braking system (CBS) with regenerative braking as an additional safety aid. Talking about features, it gets an all-digital instrument cluster loaded with information, a deep under-seat storage space with an LED light, USB charging, etc. It also features remote keyless entry and anti-theft alarm. Ampere has also included a new feature called Limp Home. What it does is that the Limp home feature offers an extra 10 kilometres of range when only 10 per cent juice is left in the scooter.

The Okinawa Ridge Plus is also a feature-loaded scooter. The suspension duties are handled by hydraulic telescopic front forks and it gets double shocker with dual-tube technology at the rear. For braking duties, it gets drum brakes at both the ends and features E-ABS (Electronic Assisted Braking System) with regenerative energy. Talking about features, it gets an all-digital instrument cluster loaded with a ton of information and it also gets central locking with an anti-theft alarm, keyless entry, geo-fencing, immobilization and many more. The scooter runs on 10-inch tyres and gets alloy wheels. It also gets Mobile connectivity with the assistance of Yes Okinawa ECO App.

The 2020 Ampere Magnus Pro electric scooter has been launched at Rs. 73,900, Ex-showroom Bengaluru while the Okinawa Ridge Plus is priced at Rs. 73,417, Ex-showroom Delhi. The Ampere Magnus is currently available only in Bengaluru and will be launched in other cities within 30 to 60 days while the Okinawa Ridge Plus is available pan-India. The Magnus Pro can be pre-booked by paying a token amount of Rs. 2,999 and the Ridge Plus can also be booked online by paying Rs. 2,000.
