Bajaj Platina is a very popular entry-level commuter motorcycle in the Indian market. Over the years, the Platina has become a brand in itself and it is extremely popular in the sub-urban and the rural parts of the country, all thanks to its high ground clearance and rough & tough nature. The Bajaj Platina is now sold in multiple variants and it gets two different BS6 engine options. Very recently, the company has launched the new kick start variant of the Platina 100. The price of the new 2020 Bajaj Platina 100 BS6 kick start variant starts at Rs. 51,667, Ex-showroom Delhi and here are all the details about it.

The newly launched kick start variant of the 2020 Bajaj Platina 100 BS6 gets some cosmetic changes, new hardware, new features and more. First of all, talking about the aesthetics of the motorcycle, so in the first glance, it looks almost the same as before but, there are some fresh graphics on the body panels. Also, the motorcycle now gets new clear lens turn indicators and re-designed sharp rear-view mirrors that add to its overall aesthetic appeal. The new Bajaj Platina 100 kick start variant also gets unique and stylish handguards and the same will be now offered on the Platina's ES variant too which was launched earlier this year.

The other bits of the motorcycle remains the same as before. At the front, it gets a small blacked-out visor, a small daytime-running LED strip, a flat and comfortable single-piece seat, etc. The new BS6 Platina's 100 KS variant will be available in two colour options - Cocktail Wine Red and Ebony Black, the same as before and they get Silver decals too. Now, talking about hardware bits, so here it gets a major update. At the front, the motorcycle continues to get telescopic forks but at the rear, it now gets new spring-on-spring Nitrox suspension. The company claims that this new Nitrox suspension will offer 15 per cent more comfort for both rider as well as pillion during long rides.

The new Bajaj Platina 100 KS shares its mechanicals with the Platina 100 ES and the Bajaj CT 100. All these motorcycles are powered by a BS6-compliant 102cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected, DTS-i engine. This BS6 motor churns out 7.9 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 8.34 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM and the engine comes mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. The braking duties on this motorcycle are handled by drum brakes at either end. But, it has a top-end variant too that gets disc brake at the front. Both the variant of this motorcycle gets CBS or combined braking system as standard. The motorcycle now also gets tubeless tyres which is again a major update. The new tubeless tyres will ensure hassle-free puncture repairs.
