Hyundai's i20 has always been a popular model in the premium hatchback segments and now with its new iteration, the popularity of this car is booming. The Indian market has always been obsessed with the Kitna deti hai factor and having multiple engines for the new i20, the fuel economy varies too. The first engine option which is the 1.2L naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit delivers 21 km/l. This is for the 5-speed manual unit.

This same engine will come with an optional CVT gearbox too and in that unit, the i20 delivers 19.65 km/l. This engine generates 82 bhp with a peak torque of 114 Nm.
The most powerful engine that is the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit which is sourced directly from the Venue delivers 20.28 km/l for the 7-speed DCT gearbox. This unit makes as much as 118 bhp with a peak torque of 172 Nm. This engine will also get a 6-speed iMT gearbox and in that the i20 delivers 20 km/l.
The most fuel-efficient 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel unit delivers 25 km/l. It produces 99 bhp with a peak torque of 240 Nm and gets mated to a 6-speed stick shift. Like the petrol-powered unit, this oil burner does not get any optional automatic gearbox.
Along with the multiple engine options, the new i20 will pack in top-notch features like a larger touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also host Hyundai's signature connected car technology which is the BlueLink and an electric sunroof. The i20 will be the second premium hatchback to offer a sunroof after the Honda Jazz.

It will get multiple airbags, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert system, the anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, front seat belt reminder and among other safety features. The lower variant gets dual airbags only.
The car will be launched on Nov 5 and we're expecting it to be priced between Rs 5.89 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The dealers across the country have started accepting the bookings and the deliveries too will start soon after the launch.
