MG Motors entered the Indian market in the year 2019 with the Hector SUV. The MG Hector impressed the Indian car buyers a lot and achieved good sales numbers. In January 2020, MG also launched its first electric SUV in India, the MG ZS EV. Both the MG products received an overwhelming response in the country. The carmaker will soon also launch the premium 6/7-seater SUV, MG Hector Plus. It is scheduled to be launched in July 2020. But, that's not all. MG has a lot of exciting products for the Indian market in the pipeline. The carmaker showcased its flagship full-size SUV, MG Gloster, at the 2020 Auto Expo. And now, the all-new 2020 MG Gloster Full-size SUV has been spied on road-test in India for the first time.
The MG Gloster is a gigantic SUV. It was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and we were surprised to see its sheer size. The SUV measures 5005 mm in length, 1932 mm in width, 1875 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2950 mm. It sits on a ladder on frame chassis and will sport three rows of seats inside the cabin. Recently, a non-camouflaged version of the MG Gloster was spied testing on the Indian roads. The test mule was spied in Gujarat, most likely in Vadodara. It is also worth mentioning that MG Motors has its production facility in Halol, Gujarat.

Powering the MG Gloster will be a 2.0-litre in-house developed diesel engine. This oil-burner will churn out 218 PS of power and 480 Nm of peak torque. The engine will come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and will also get a part-time 4WD system with a low range transfer case. The SUV might also get a powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This motor will churn out 224 PS of power and 360 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission. Being a premium SUV, it will get a plethora of features and a ton of safety equipment.
The upcoming 2020 MG Gloster SUV is expected to hit the Indian showrooms by the festive season of 2020. It will be brought to India via the CKD-route (completely knocked down units) and will be assembled at the company's Halol plant. It is expected to be priced between Rs. 30 lakhs - Rs. 35 lakhs, Ex-showroom. The MG Gloster will be the flagship SUV from the British car manufacturer in the Indian market. Once launched, it will rival against other full-size SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, etc.
