Nissan Gravite CNG

The new Gravite now comes with a retrofitted CNG option that can be installed at the dealership. The CNG retrofitment kit is available across 60 dealerships in 16 states. The government-approved dual-cylinder CNG kit is developed and manufactured by Motozen and will be fitted through Nissans authorised dealer network. It is BS6 Phase 2 compliant and comes with an ICAT-approved system for certified safety. The setup consists of two 25-litre CNG tanks stacked one above the other, along with a fuel-filling point placed under the fuel lid for a clean, factory-finish integration.
Moreover, the brand is offering a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty on the CNG kit to provide complete peace of mind to customers. The Gravite will continue to be powered by the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, mated to either a manual or AMT gearbox. However, performance with the CNG setup remains questionable due to the added weight of the tanks. Additionally, there will be virtually no boot space left once the CNG tanks are installed.

The benefit of retrofitment is that customers can buy any variant and have the CNG kit fitted. As for features, the Gravite continues to offer a touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electrically adjustable ORVMs, among other features.
Verdict
The Nissan Gravite is one of the most affordable MPV in the Indian market and with the new CNG version, it has become one of the most affordable CNG MPV as well. The CNG retrofitment will offer flexibility to the customers who want more mileage and want a fuel efficient 7-seater.
