2022 Toyota Innova Hycross MPV is ready to debut in the Indian market. Ahead of its official launch, the front fascia of the MPV has been teased online.

Toyota is readying a brand new Innova. We have been posting regular updates about this upcoming update of Innova. The 2022 Toyota Innova Hycross MPV has now been officially teased online. The teaser is released online in Indonesia; where its official debut will take place. However, its launch in India will take place soon after its international debut.

2022 Innova Hycross Design Details

As seen in the teased image, the front of the car has been released. However, the outlook of the overall design is similar to the Innova Crysta. Meanwhile, there are some changes that make it look different. One such change is the use of a new broad front grille. Additionally, the front grille has been mixed with new dual-barrel LED headlights. The projector headlights are well embedded with the new bumper that has sharp edges to it. Look closely and one can notice the sharp air dam design on the front bumper.

Hence, the overall design is rather an evolution and not a new design. This was already anticipated as the car has been spied on multiple times in India on the test. However, the Hycross is based on a monocoque chassis and hence it will be more strong and more comfortable. Additionally, the test car seen showcased to us that the Hycross might be longer than the Crysta itself. Meanwhile, we anticipate that it will have a more spacious cabin than the current Crysta.

Additionally, expect the features like a 360-degree parking camera, a panoramic sunroof, a bigger infotainment system with android auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, etc. Toyota will keep selling the Crysta along with the new Hycross. The Hycross is designed more towards luring private buyers.

Engine & Specifications

The Hycross MPV will carry a major change technically. It will bring a front-wheel drive system only to the Innova brand. Additionally, the new Hycross will use a 2.0-lt petrol engine with a hybrid powertrain. This engine is expected to produce power in the likes of 190 bhp. However, it is the fuel economy and comfort that Toyota shall focus on via the hybrid system. An automatic gearbox shall be offered on the hybrid powertrain option. However, we are not sure whether it will be an e-CVT or a torque converter.

Verdict

The upcoming Innova Hycross MPV is expected to be launched in India by the end of this year. Its debut will take place in Indonesia soon. However, we anticipate that it will feature a price tag of around Rs 20 lakh in India. Additionally, the Hycross will get some segment-first features as well.
