2023 Honda WR-V Design

The new WR-V spied on the road in Indonesia.

The first change is the design of the new WR-V. The crossover hatchback looks of the older car are now gone. It gets a proportionate C-SUV generic design. Additionally, the overall body line has been beefed up with a tall body. Meanwhile, the front of the car now resembles the current-gen Honda Amaze in India. The rear end also gets twin-LED lights embedded at the boot lid. The global model gets 18-inch alloy wheels & a panoramic sunroof as well. Additionally, it also gets LED lighting all around.

Interiors

Interiors of the new WR-V are inspired from the India-spec Amaze sedan.

The cabin of the new car has also been revamped. It takes its inspiration from the India-spec Amaze. The dashboard, steering wheel, & center console design is all similar to the Amaze. Meanwhile, the instrument panel & the infotainment screen is also carried from the Amaze sedan. The global car gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen. It also gets automatic climate control & leather upholstery inside the cabin.

Features

The new WR-V gets high-tech features like the ADAS Level-2.

The features on the global 2023 WR-V are also one step ahead of the current car. It has got ADAS level-2 tech for safety purposes. Additionally, the presence of touch-operational climate control, touch infotainment screen, & cruise control makes it go one step ahead. The cruise control on it is an adaptive system that helps the car slow down by using radar. Additionally, it also gets electrically foldable ORVMs, keyless entry, Android Auto, & Apple CarPlay as well.

Engine & Specifications

The main change will be under the bonnet for the Indian spec. How? Well, it is supposed that the diesel engine will be discontinued with the launch of a new car in India. Most car makers are now refraining from investing in making BS6 diesel engines. Hence, Honda will only offer it with its reliable 1.5-lt petrol engine. This engine makes a peak power of 119 bhp & 145 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, it will be available with manual as well as CVT automatic gearbox options in India.

Price & Rivals

WE-V has been consistent in terms of sales for Honda in India. Its crossover looks have appealed to many customers. However, it is its frugal diesel engine that makes it one of the most efficient cars in its segment. The new WRV will continue fighting with the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 300, & Maruti Brezza in India. Meanwhile, the new design & features will attract a price hike. We suspect that the new car can be priced between Rs 10-13 lakh ex-showroom. Additionally, it may get launched in India expectedly by mid-2023.
