KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- The new Q3 Sportback carries on with the familiar design language from the new Q5.
- Likely to continue with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol powertrain.
- Could be India-bound shortly after the new Q3 debuts here.
The Audi Q3 Sportback has entered its third-generation, just months after the regular third-generation Q3 also made its global debut not too long ago. Much like the regular third-gen Q3, which is said to be India-bound sometime in 2026, we can expect the Q3 Sportback to follow soon after.

2025 Audi Q3 Sportback Details

The new Q3 Sportback is not too different from the regular Q3 in terms of styling, and the Q3 itself takes inspiration from the larger Q5. The Singleframe grille has been carried over, and so are the split-pattern headlamps, which consist of micro-LED modules and they also combine the light guidance functions with the driver assistance suite.

The real difference will be more visible from the sides and the rear, with the obvious sloping roofline that is typical of Audi's Sportback range; essentially its coupe SUVs. Audi says the Q3 Sportback's roofline is 29mm shorter compared to the regular Q3. Much like the regular Q3, the Sportback comes with a full-length light strip, and it also gets split-pattern digital OLED tail lamps. To round things off, the tailgate comes with an illuminated Audi logo.

In terms of the powertrains, the Q3 Sportback comes with a wide range of options globally; these range between 1.5-litre to 2.0-litre petrol, diesel and hybrid options. However, we are likely to carry on with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, producing 261bhp and 400Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed DSG transmission, and with Quattro all-wheel drive.

Similar to the new Q3, the new Q3 Sportback comes with a focus on a cleaner, minimalist look. The blended screen setup with a 11.9-inch instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch infotainment touch screen have been carried over. The centre console has also been cleaned up, with the gear lever now going behind the steering wheel as a column-mounted unit, while functions for the lighting and wipers now accessible on the left lever.

Verdict
Audi is yet to comment on the official timeline of the Q3 Sportback's arrival in India, given that the regular Q3 is also yet to arrive in the Indian market. However, we can expect both the cars sometime in 2026, with the Sportback likely to follow after the regular Q3.
