2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5: Design Tweaks

Hyundai Ioniq 5

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 retains its typical silhouette but with some twists and tweaks for a sharper appeal. The first thing you'll notice is the redesigned front bumper that now gets a solid lip that adds to the sport appeal of the EV. The side profile reveals the dual-tone aero-cut alloy wheels that now look more pleasing than before. The same can be noticed with the rear bumper as well, which has now been sculpted for a more muscular approach. Apart from this, the Ioniq 5 retains its boxy design with LED headlights and pixelated tail lamps, which is a differentiating element for the EV on the roads.

The updated Hyundai Ioniq 5's cabin gets a sportier and more functional layout, featuring a new 3-spoke steering wheel with pixel elements, added physical controls for key functions, and revised center console design for improved ergonomics. While the seats remain unchanged, darker trim elements add a premium feel. The feature list is expected to mirror the current model, including dual 12.3-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced ADAS features. Safety tech like six airbags and a 360-degree camera is likely to be carried forward as well. The updates mainly focus on exterior and interior tweaks like seats and bumpers.

Battery, Range & Specs

Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 comes with a 72.6 kWh battery pack, which powers the electric motor. It churns out 216 bhp and 350Nm of peak torque. Moreover, the Ioniq 5 boasts an impressive ARAI-certified range of 631km on a single charge, which indicates its ability to cover long distances without needing frequent recharging. Although the international spec model comes with an 84 kWh battery pack option, but is is unlikely to make it to the Indian-spec model.

The current model is priced at Rs. 46.05 lakhs ex-showroom in India, and the updated iteration is expected to introduce a slight price hike. It continues to rival the likes of Kia EV6, BMW iX1, and others.

Verdict

The refreshed Hyundai Ioniq 5 appears poised to reinforce its position as a standout electric crossover. It blends bold styling, meaningful tech upgrades, and an already-impressive range to appeal to EV enthusiasts. With its blend of practicality and futuristic features, it remains a benchmark in its class. However, given how feature-rich the current model already is, it'll be intriguing to see how Hyundai elevates the experience further, possibly through improved software, efficiency tweaks, or new personalization options to keep things fresh in an increasingly competitive segment.
