2025 Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE Details

Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE

The V-Strom 800 DE remains familiar in terms of design. It carries over the vertically-stacked hexagonal LED headlights, the tall windscreen, the beak fender, fuel tank, and the rear section as well. There are three paint schemes on offer, but the graphics have been revised. These include Champion Yellow No.2, Glass Sparkle Black with grey and red graphics, Pearl Tech White. The Pearl Tech White paint scheme replaces Gloss Mat Metallic Grey paint.

The 776cc, parallel-twin powertrain has been retained, and it also carries over the 270-degree crankshaft design. At 83 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 78 Nm of torque at 6,800 rpm, the power and torque figures remain identical to the outgoing motorcycle. However, this setup is now OBD-2B compliant, making it run cleaner than before.

Underneath, the hardware is also familiar, featuring the same steel frame, hanging off of Showa USD front forks and Showa pre-load adjustable monoshock, both with 220 mm suspension travel. The 21-inch front and the 17-inch rear wheels with spoke rims have also been retained, but they continue to be tube-type. The 20-litre fuel tank has also been carried over, and it tips the scales at 232kg.

In terms of features, it retains the same 5-inch colour TFT screen with day/night modes, three ride modes, switchable dual-channel ABS with two modes, ride-by-wire throttle, a bi-directional quickhifter, four traction control modes, a Gravel mode, low RPM assist, and a USB port. However, there is no connected tech to speak of here.

Verdict

The V-Strom 800 DE carries on with its many strong points, along with the price tag that remains unchanged. It will compete solely against the Honda Transalp 750, since the Triumph Tiger 850 has been discontinued.
