New & Added Features

Volkswagen has introduced several high-end features in the new 2026 Taigun that were not present in the earlier version. A major addition is the panoramic sunroof (with summer function), available on the Topline and GT Plus variants, replacing the earlier sleek electric sunroof.
The previous 8-inch digital display has been upgraded to a larger 10.25-inch Active Info Display in higher variants. The infotainment system now supports "Hello Volkswagen" voice commands and offers 15 inbuilt apps, including Spotify, YouTube, and Amazon Music.
The Taigun also gets new design elements like a front light band, illuminated front and rear VW logos, and sequential turn indicators in the rear tail lamps. The 1.5L TSI variant now features rear disc brakes with red brake calipers, replacing the earlier drum brakes.
Variant and Design Changes

The variant lineup has been reorganized into two lines: Chrome and Sport. A new Highline Plus variant has been introduced in the Chrome line, positioned between Highline and Topline.
The Sport line includes GT Line (1.0L TSI) and GT Plus Sport (1.5L TSI) variants, featuring blacked-out styling elements such as glossy black dashboard trim, black headliners, and black alloy wheels. New color options include Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey.
Spec Comparison

The engine options remain largely unchanged, with minor updates. The 1.0L TSI engine produces 115 PS and 178 Nm, now paired with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox instead of the earlier 6-speed unit.
There is a slight increase in kerb weight due to the updated gearbox. For instance, the Topline (1.0L AT) now weighs 1,304 kg compared to 1,285 kg earlier, with negligible impact on driving dynamics.
Price
The 2026 Taigun is priced between Rs. 10.99 lakh and Rs. 19.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Previously, the Taigun ranged from Rs. 11.41 lakh to Rs. 19.18 lakh (ex-showroom). The starting price of the car has dropped by Rs. 40,000.
