5 Things Mahindra XUV700 Offers Over 2023 Tata Safari Facelift

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Check out the Top 5 things XUV700 offers over the updated Safari

Finally, the Tata Safari facelift has been launched after a long spell of spy shots and speculations. And while you will agree with us that it offers a monumental upgrade over the outgoing model, no car has it all. Somewhere, someone is on a better footing in some areas than others. Such is the case with Safari Facelift as well when you compare it to the Mahindra XUV700.

While it now bridges the gap it had with the Mahindra XUV700, there are still 5 things that the Mahindra XUV700 offers over Tata's updated flagship SUV.

1. A Petrol Engine

If you're in the market for a 3-row petrol SUV, the Mahindra XUV700 is a worthy choice with its 2-liter turbo petrol engine producing 200PS and 380Nm, available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. However, the Tata Safari remains a diesel-only option, powered by a 2-liter diesel engine generating 170PS and 350Nm, and it comes with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

2. Enhanced Audio Experience With 2 Extra Speakers

In the realm of premium sound systems, both Indian SUVs offer impressive options in their top variants. The Mahindra XUV700 features a 12-speaker Sony sound system with 4 customized acoustic modes, providing a robust audio experience. Meanwhile, the Tata Safari boasts a 10-speaker JBL audio system that offers a versatile range with 13 JBL audio modes, giving it a slight edge in terms of variety.

3. Lane Keep Assist

When it comes to advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), Mahindra's XUV700 takes the lead with its lane keep assist feature, part of a comprehensive ADAS suite. This system helps keep the vehicle within its lane by detecting road markings through sensors and steering it . On the other hand, the Tata Safari's ADAS package currently includes lane departure warning and lane change alert. However, Tata has plans to enhance its ADAS suite for Safari by adding lane keep assist through a software update in the near future, but as of now, the XUV700 has the advantage in this regard.

4. Flush Door Handles

The Mahindra XUV700 sets itself apart by offering a feature typically found in luxury vehicles electric smart door handles. These handles are flush with the car's body but extend when the car is unlocked, allowing easy door access, and retract when the car is locked, just like you might have noticed on some of the Range Rovers. In contrast, the Tata Safari features conventional door handles.

5. AWD System

The Mahindra XUV700 offers the flexibility of a diesel automatic variant with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option, providing enhanced off-road capability. In contrast, the Tata Safari is exclusively available with a front-wheel-drive configuration. This distinction suggests that the XUV700 offers a more SUV-oriented experience compared to the contemporary Safari, primarily due to its feature differentiation, including the availability of AWD.

Verdict

The Mahindra XUV700 holds a slight edge over the Tata Safari in various aspects, making it a compelling choice for those seeking a feature-rich and versatile SUV. With its more potent turbo petrol engine, additional sound system speakers, advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) capabilities, electric smart door handles, and the option of all-wheel-drive, the XUV700 offers a well-rounded package. While the Tata Safari excels in some areas, the XUV700's advantages also make it a strong contender in the segment. Also, you must join our Whatsapp Group Community to find out more news like this.
