Bajaj Files 3 New Trademarks: What's The Plan?
Bajaj recently trademarked three new names: Freedom, Trekker, and Glider. While Trekker and Glider are approved, Freedom awaits examination. This follows news of Bajaj's CNG motorcycle plans, sparking speculation these names might be for the CNG bike. However, brands sometimes trademark names simply to hold them, so the actual use remains to be seen.
However, Bajaj seems to be taking a quick trademark filing approach as it is clear from the long list of names they currently have the rights for. Bajaj's motorcycle name game is in high gear! They've stockpiled a vast collection including classics like Racer, Hammer, Pulsar, Swing, Genie, Freerider, Caliber, Twinner, Neuron, Eleganz, Vincent, Darkstar, Pulsar Elan, Pulsar Eleganz, Blade, Technik, Tecnica, Fluir, Fluor and added even more in late 2023 with Zinger, Bomber, Elixir, and Aura. Now in 2024, they've trademarked Freedom, Trekker, Glider, and Marathon, further expanding their options. While it's anyone's guess which names will see the light of day, Bajaj is clearly strategizing for future motorcycle launches.
The Upcoming CNG Bike: What And When?
Bajaj's exciting CNG motorcycle is set for a June 2024 debut! This 100-160cc segment contender will take on existing players while tapping into a new market. Bajaj's current commuter bikes like Platina and CT100 dominate rural markets, but the CNG option allows them to cater to urban areas with high CNG dependence and availability. This strategic move expands Bajaj's reach and caters to a wider range of riders.
On the sidelines, CEO Rajiv Bajaj hinted at a "biggest ever Pulsar" launch by March 2024 (the month's ending soon). The lack of spy shots suggests this could be a rebranded Dominar 400 as the Pulsar 400, making Bajaj's Pulsar lineup even more exciting!
