BattRE GPS:ie Electric Scooter Launched In India; Affordable and Internet-Connected EV

Jaipur-based technology-driven electric two-wheeler start-up BattRE Electric Mobility Pvt. Ltd. has introduced its most affordable electric scooter in India. The BattRE GPS:ie Electric Scooter has been launched in India. This electric scooter is loaded with features and it gets internet connectivity too. BattRE Electric Mobility has partnered with California-based Aeris Communications for the technology solutions of this connected scooter.

BattRe GPS:ie electric scooter boasts of a host of connected features on its telematics platform, giving the rider greater comfort, convenience, and confidence. The electric scooter has an integrated SIM card that allows smart vehicle functions accessible via a smartphone app. The telematics platform brings multiple features like the live location of the vehicle through GPS as well as the driver's behaviour and trip reports.
The electric scooter also features remote immobilisation, geo-fencing, secure parking, speed lock and crash indicator. It has alert systems which function whenever the vehicle crashes or is being towed away. The owners can set a speed lock on their scooter and once the fixed speed limit is crossed, it sends an alert to the owner on his/her connected smartphone. All the information of the electric scooter can be accessed via the smartphone app.

Powering the BattRe GPS:ie electric scooter is a hub-mounted BLDC electric motor with a 48V-24Ah lithium ferrate phosphate battery and it is an extremely light-weight scooter weighing just 60 kilograms. The scooter has a claimed range of 65 kilometres per charge and the charging time is around 2.5 hours via a regular charger. It gets hydraulic forks both at the front as well as at the rear and the EV also comes with disc brakes at either end for better-stopping power.

The BattRE GPS:ie Electric Scooter has been launched in India at Rs. 64,990, Ex-showroom and while the asking price of the EV includes the first-year subscription cost, the customers will have to pay Rs. 1200 as an annual subscription from the second year onwards. It will be available through the company's over 50 dealerships located across a number of states like Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh. The icing on the cake is that this internet-connected electric scooter can be purchased via Amazon.in too.
