Ducati Discontinued Scrambler 1100

The Italian motorcycle, Ducati Scrambler 1100, was launched back in 2018. It is now been delisted from the website, just within 8 years of being on sale. However, the reason for this move has not been specified. But most likely, this move is a result of the stricter Euro 5+ emission regulations, which will come into effect soon. Their L-twin engine, loved for the old raw school feel, simply didn't align with the emission norms without the expensive R&D. While it won't be a wise decision, looking at the current numbers globally.
A Look Back At The Scrambler 1100

This beast was powered by a 1100cc, L-twin engine, producing 86 hp at 7500 rpm and 88 Nm of torque at 4750 rpm. While it comes paired with a six-speed gearbox, along with a slip and assist clutch. Moreover, it comes with ride-by-wire along with ride modes. Meanwhile, it rides on a steel trellis frame suspended on the adjustable 48mm inverted forks at the front, while a monoshock unit is at the rear. However, braking duties are handled by a 320mm disc at the front with four four-piston calipers. While at the rear, a 245mm disc with a single-piston caliper.
The Ducati Scrambler was priced at Rs 13.40 lakh (ex-showroom), which goes up to Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Pro Sport variant. Moreover, it offered three variants: Dark Pro, Tribute Pro and Pro Sport. Currently, only three scrambler models are on sale: Ducati Scrambler Icon, NightShift, and Full Throttle.

With the Scrambler 1100 now discontinued, Ducati has closed the chapter on one of its most distinctive modern classics in India. While it delivered on performance and character, its premium pricing, limited demand, and upcoming emission norms proved to be a tough combination. Ducati now shifts focus to the more accessible and regulation-friendly 803cc Scrambler range, leaving behind a machine that was as niche as it was memorable.
