Hi, I'm Tejen. I was born and brought up in a small town of Haryana. However, from the day of my birth and until now, I've always lived around cars and motorcycles. More than passion, the automotive world is my only lifestyle. It's the connection to the vehicle that delivers me peace. However, when it comes to a choice; my instinct leads me towards motorcycles.

Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP Details

Badged as SP translates into Sports Production; the V4 SP looks more or less the same as the regular V4 S. The striking and aggressive naked styling continues to dare the track riders. Although, the SP might mimic the S variant; it is significantly lighter than it. Ducati has managed to shred 2.5 kg from the new SP.

The main contributors are the lightweight components used for the construction. While it does not come with carbon rims, the machined forged magnesium alloys are 0.9 kg lighter. As per the company, these new alloy wheels have helped in reducing the inertia by 26 percent at the front & 46 at the rear.

The specs are also similar but with additional technology. For example, the front forks of the SP are carried from the Ducati Panigale V4. The fork spring preload is also reduced to 6 mm from 11. Additionally, the brake calipers used are the Brembo Stylema R monoblock. This means that the braking is improved for high-speed bleeding.

Speaking of the engine, it comes with the same 1103cc, Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine sourced from the V4 S. The peak power stands at 208 hp and the peak torque is 123 Nm. A 9-disc STM EVO-SBK dry clutch is used to deliver this power to the rear wheel. As per Ducati, this clutch results in less front hopping during aggressive riding at the track.

As the pricing is a bit souring for the eyes, the V4 SP is surely a looker as it is offered in the Ducati Corse Winter Test Colours. Additionally, every bike will be specifically numbered for maintaining exclusivity for the owners.
