ETO Motors to Set Up Over 2500 EV Charging Stations in Delhi-NCR

ETO Motors will play an instrumental role in the achievement of the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy's target of making Delhi the EV capital of India

ETO Motors, an electric mobility solutions and services provider, has collaborated with BSES and Tata Power DDL to establish 2,000-3,000 EV charging stations in Delhi-NCR in the coming 2-3 years. The company has already set up more than 30 MWs of EV charging infrastructure across the country. Moreover, ETO Motors is targetting setting up 10,000 EV charging stations in the region in the next 5 years.

The appointment of ETO Motor by Delhis Distribution Companies, including BSES Yamuna, Tata Power DDL and BSES Rajdhani, for the installation of subsidized EV charging stations was done over a period of 3 years thru a tender that was floated by BSES Rajdhani on the behalf of the 3 DISCOMs back in July 2021. With this, the Government of Delhi has planned to establish a single-window facility along with empanelling multiple vendors thru DISCOMs' for the launch of EV charging stations in private as well as semi-public locations.

Meanwhile, the proposed single-window facility will ensure that the customers can easily compare the costs and features of all the chargers on the DISCOM websites. They will be even able to order a charger and plan its installation through the website or through a phone call. Not just this, in order to promote quicker adoption of EVs, the Government of NCTD will even offer a subsidy of Rs 6,000 per charging point for the first 30,000 EV charging stations.

ETO Motors is delighted to contribute towards the National Capitals move towards electric mobility, by being one of the empaneled players in this initiative by BSES and Tata Power DDL, which would be pivotal in ushering in the EV ecosystem., said Mr. N. K. Rawal, Managing Director & CEO of ETO Motors.

This policy has been made with an aim to achieve the objective to enhance Delhi's air quality and even set up a supply-chain ecosystem for the fast-growing segment of electric vehicles. As an empanelled vendor of the DISCOMs, ETO Motors will be seen installing EV chargers at various semi-public sites such as malls, colleges, and offices along with privately-owned spaces like residential complexes.
