One Moto to Setup Its India Manufacturing Unit in Telangana

The One Moto Electa was introduced at the recently concluded EV India expo and its deliveries will commence in February this year

One Moto has announced the MOU with Telangana Government for building its production plant. The upcoming manufacturing facility will be located on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Thanks to EV-supporting policies from the state government, Hyderabad has been one of the key markets for electric vehicles in India. One Moto has earmarked INR 250 crore to set up its first production plant in the country.

We are determined to provide Indian customers with quality products in EVs. The idea is to manage all the production in India and cater to the growing market. We aim to manufacture at least 40,000 units in the first phase of the plant launch, and capacity will easily be taken up to 100,000 in two years, Mr. Sameer Moidin, Co-Founder & Partner, One Moto India.

The upcoming manufacturing facility will enjoy a major automation integration with additional semi- robotics, and the latest machinery in the manufacturing processes in order to produce quality products. The production plant will cover an area of 15 acres. This new facility will be responsible for the production of all One Moto products other than even manufacturing 2 Indian fleets that will be launched by Ellysium Automotives that promotes One Moto in India.  

One Moto introduced its new electric scooter, Electa, at the recently concluded EV India expo that was held in Greater Noida last month. Since the launch of the brand in November 2021, it has already introduced three e-Scooters in the market- Byka, Electa, and Commuta.

With the new manufacturing plant, we not only aim to serve our customers in India but also export vehicles to other global markets which One Moto is developing.  There is tremendous opportunity to create jobs in the state of Telangana not just at the manufacturing facility, but also in rural areas. We will be also setting up skill development programs with the state since EV after-sales service requires a specialised skillset. We look forward to working with the state Government which has been putting all its efforts towards promoting e-Mobility. The plant will create almost 500 direct & 2000 indirect jobs in the state. This development will serve larger purposes in all directions for the holistic development of electric mobility ecosystem, Mr. Shubhankar Chaudhry- CEO, One Moto India.
