- Hero Xpulse 160cc spied in camouflage.
- Several minor changes observed, that seperates it from bigger Xpulse.
- Most likely, carrying the Xtreme 160R engine.
A new iteration of Hero Xpulse has caught the eyes of the internet, and this one doesn't feel like an Xpulse everyone's talking about, the 250cc or the 440cc, but observing these new spy shots, this could be the Xpulse 160 being tested, for the very first time. The engine appears small, and even the wheel size seems low profile. Everything is under speculation, but we think that Hero is secretly bringing back the Impulse, Hero's first-ever adventure bike with this new variant. Hero Xpulse 160

The Xpulse spy-shots tells a different story as the engine appers of smaller cubic capacity - clearly, this isn't the one with 210, 250 or 440cc - but could be Hero Xtreme 160R engine - of 163.2 cc with 15 PS and 14 Nm of torque. Again, this engine too is 4 stroke, air cooled with 2 valve. To add more, this bike front disc brake is circular - not the petal disc found in Xpulse 210, plus the diameter feels short.

Moreover, there is no windshield guard, no radiator for oil cooling, and the knuckle guard is of old shape, the one we used to see a long time back -hinged at the ends. That said, the entire design is similar to Xpulse 200 and 210, with the same suspension setup and 21-inch wheels at the front and 18-inch at the rear. Now, why did we say that Hero might bring back Impulse? Because the Impulse was the first ever Hero adventure bike launched in 2011 and discontinued in 2016, due to no sales.

Impulse featured a 150cc engine with a 5-speed gearbox and customers rejected it as they thought a 150cc adventure bike was not worth the purchase, plus there was no audience for such bikes a decade ago. Things have drastically changed since then, and Hero brought Xpulse with 200cc and made a name for itself in this category. So, they might wanna bring back the Impulse again, so let's see how it goes.

Verdict
This is the all-new iternation of the Xpulse and our instincts say it carries a 160cc engine. Will it ever see the sun-rise or Hero just testing it? If it does launch, India will get another affordable adventure bike option. Also, now there is a huge market for these types of bikes so, we think this bike has the potential to become successful just like the 200cc bikes.
