Hero Splendor iSmart was first launched in India in the year 2014. The Splendor iSmart brought a revolutionary technology called i3S or idle stop/start system. We will be telling more about the i3S technology in the later part of this article. In 2014, the Splendor iSmart was launched as a 100cc commuter. But, later the company launched the Splendor iSmart 110. Now, in November 2019, the BS6 Splendor iSmart 110 was launched and it was the first BS6-compliant motorcycle in India. Today, we have for you the First Look Review of this new 2020 Hero Splendor iSmart 110 BS6.

2020 Hero Splendor iSmart 110 BS6: Looks and Colour Options
The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 is a good-looking commuter motorcycle. It has a basic commuterish design language but with modern elements. At the front, it gets an angular headlamp cowl and dual-tone body-coloured rear-view mirrors. Moving to the side profile, one can see that the motorcycle now gets attractive dual-tone body graphics and a blacked-out treatment. The motorcycle gets a long single-piece seat, split grab-rails and a sharp taillamp. The new Hero Splendor iSmart 110 BS6 is offered in three colour variants. They are Blue, Red and Grey and all of them get dual-tone shade.

2020 Hero Splendor iSmart 110 BS6: Engine, Transmission and Mileage
The 2020 Hero Splendor iSmart 110 is powered by a new BS6-compliant 113.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This motor churns out 9.02 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 9.89 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. The engine comes coupled to a 4-speed manual gearbox. It also gets Hero's advanced XSens fuel-injection technology and the company's patented i3S or idle stop/start system to boost the fuel economy. What this Hero's i3S tech does is that it automatically shuts off the engine when the bike is idling. Then, you press the clutch and the engine roars back to life. The Splendor iSmart 110 BS6 delivers around 65-70 kmpl of mileage in real-world conditions.

2020 Hero Splendor iSmart 110 BS6: Tyres, Brakes and Features
The Hero Splendor iSmart sits on a tubular diamond frame. For suspension duties, it gets telescopic forks at the front and five-step adjustable hydraulic dual shock-absorbers at the rear. The motorcycle runs on big 18-inch tubeless tyres. Both the tyres are of the same dimension and they measure 80/100-18. For braking duties, it gets a 130 mm drum brake at the rear while at the front, one can choose between a 130 mm drum and a 240 mm disc unit. It also gets IBS or integrated braking system as an additional safety aid. The new Splendor iSmart 110 BS6 gets a semi-analogue semi-digital instrument cluster that displays all the basic trip-related information.

The new 2020 Hero Splendor iSmart 110 BS6 is available in two variants - Drum and Disc. The Front Drum Brake variant is priced at Rs. 65,700 while the Front Disc Brake variant is priced at Rs. 67,900. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi. It rivals against the Hero Passion Pro, Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear, TVS Radeon, TVS Star City Plus, etc. Finally, talking about the verdict, so if you want a good looking affordable & reliable commuter motorcycle with decent performance, low maintenance and great mileage, then you should surely consider buying the new 2020 Hero Splendor iSmart 110 BS6.
