Hyundai India Records 8.8% growth in August 2026

Hyundai posted total sales of 65,796 units in August 2026. This is a growth of 8.8% year-on-year. It is driven by domestic sales of 54,396 units. The domestic performance in August 2026 has been the best-ever August domestic performance compared to any year. Exports, however, stood at 11,400 units, impacted by geopolitical disruptions. Hyundai's domestic sales of 54,396 units in August 2026 marked a 23.6% jump over the same month last year, making it the highest-ever August domestic figure in the company's history. Total wholesale, domestic plus exports, came in at 65,796 units, up 8.8% YoY.

Exports, meanwhile, were subdued at 11,400 units during the month, weighed down by external factors rather than demand-side weakness. Last month the exports stood at 21,150 units. The drop in units is 10,250 units. 

Strong FY27 Momentum, Exports Hit By Geopolitical Disruption

Hyundai's growth story extends beyond just August. The company said domestic sales grew 12.6% YoY over the April-August period of FY2027, pointing to sustained momentum through the first five months of the fiscal year.

On the export front, however, the company flagged logistical constraints stemming from the ongoing conflict in West Asia and the wider geopolitical environment as the key drag on August shipments. Hyundai expects export demand to recover as the situation stabilises in the coming months.
