Upcoming KIA Carens Facelift

KIA Carens Facelift

A few weeks back a camouflaged test mule of the Carens was spotted on test in Korea. This was the first spotting of the Carens facelift. Now, a new test mule has been seen on the Indian road, featuring a similar rear design as the previous spotted mule. The upcoming Carens facelift will boast subtle design changes and the addition of new features.

The recently spotted test mule revealed an all-new design for the tail lamp with a C-shaped LED light. It is expected to get a connected rear light bar similar to the Sonet donning the KIA Star Map LED design language. The rear bumper also seems a bit tweaked as compared to the current generation model. Since the test mule was spotted from a distance, not much is revealed about the upcoming version.

KIA Carens Facelift

If we talk about the test mule spotted in Korea, that seems to be a mid-spec variant as it was fitted with halogen headlamps instead of LED. The side profile revealed a new alloy wheel design and the rear was seen with a similar design for the tail lamp as seen on the test mule in India. The front will also get revised fascia with tweaked LED DRL, headlamp, and bumper.

We can also expect additions to the feature list, it is expected to get features like a new connected screen setup, panoramic sunroof, ADAS, and more.

At last, it also offers a 1.5-litre diesel engine with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. These engine options are also expected to be available in the facelift version as well.

Verdict

KIA Carens received a great response in the MPV segment in India. This MPV comes with a plethora of features and three different engine options which suits different type of buyers. The upcoming facelift will give the MPV a new design and new features which will make it more competitive in its segment. The KIA Carens will continue to compete with the Maruti Suzuki XL6.
