Following the trend set by Tata's Red Dark edition for the Harrier and Safari, Mahindra is planning to introduce the XUV700 Blaze edition with subtle cosmetic enhancements. The exterior boasts a striking matte red color, elevating the SUV's sporty allure, accompanied by black alloy wheels, chrome inserts, and distinctive Blaze edition badging on the tailgate. Although the fundamental design remains consistent with the standard XUV700, these updates enhance the SUV's sporty aesthetics.

The cabin of the Mahindra car exudes a sporty vibe with an all-black upholstery scheme accentuated by contrasting red stitching. This fiery touch extends to the seats, dashboard, and steering wheel, creating a cohesive look. Red highlights around the air conditioning vents, center console, and rotary dials add a further dose of visual flair. Now, let's see what features this edition will offer.

Features: Plenty, But Nothing New!

The upcoming Blaze Edition will be based on the top-spec AX7 or the AX7 L trim and comes loaded with all its modern feature list. Continuing the legacy of the flagship SUV, the XUV700 Blaze edition retains sought-after amenities such as captain seats in the second row, ventilated front row seats, and more. Essential features in this edition comprise a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, digital instrument cluster, dual-zone AC, ADAS level-2, 6 airbags, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, and a lot more.

The XUV700 Blaze Edition will continue with its existing engine choices: including a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine generating 200 hp and 380 Nm of torque. Alternatively, for diesel enthusiasts, the XUV700 provides a 2.2-liter 185 hp and 420 Nm (450 Nm with automatic transmission) version. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, with the diesel variant offering an additional all-wheel-drive option for improved off-road performance.

Considering the cosmetic enhancements, Mahindra might raise the price of the new model by Rs 50,000. The AX7 variants currently start at Rs. 21.30 lakhs ex-showroom.

Verdict

The Blaze Edition is most likely just a cosmetic upgrade while all the amenities and powertrain options will continue just as they are. However, the cosmetic upgrades like the matte paintjob and red inserts inside the cabin surely elevates the appeal of the SUV for a more sporty appearance.
