Now, you can buy the swanky MG Cyberster and luxury MPV, the M9, at much lower costs, as MG has introduced the BaaS scheme on these premium cars, sold exclusively via MG Select showrooms. After this financial program, the Cyberster now starts at Rs 72.49 lakh + Rs 8 per km, and M9 at Rs 69.99 lakh + Rs 8 per km. This decision offers greater flexibility to buyers who want to buy these premium cars but are unsure about their pricing. Now, let's check out what the new pricing will be and by how much they've become affordable.
MG Cyberster

This electric coupe roadster, which is known for its performance, is available in a total of three variants and starts at Rs 82.50 lakh (ex-showroom). After the BaaS program, the Cyberster has become affordable by Rs 10.01 lakh. Now, it costs Rs 72.49 lakh with a rental cost of Rs 8 per km. This electric roadster key highlights a dual-motor setup, 510 PS and 725 Nm of torque, 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, and a claimed range of 580 km. That being said, the people who own or drive this say it has too soft a suspension, and driving it at high speeds doesn't give confidence that we think a car with such high power figures would deliver.
Vehicles | Non-BaaS price | Non-BaaS price | Upfront savings |
|---|---|---|---|
MG Cyberster | Rs 72.49 lakh + Rs 8 per km | Rs 82.50 lakh | Rs 10.01 lakh |
MG M9 | Rs 69.99 lakh + Rs 8 per km | Rs 79.94 lakh | Rs 9.96 lakh |
MG M9

The MG M9 is a presidential electric MPV that is made for the chauffeur-driven experience and competes with pioneers like the Toyota Vellfire and Mercedes-Benz V-Class. This being electric-powered makes it stand out from the crowd and results in a much lower cost of running when compared with other luxury cars in the segment. This car comes in two variants and starts at Rs 79.94 lakh and goes up to Rs 84.94 lakh (ex-showroom). With the BaaS scheme, the M9 has become cheaper by Rs 9.95 lakh, as it costs Rs 69.99 lakh with Rs 8 per km.
This MPV comes with a 90 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 548 km, which makes 248 PS and 350 Nm of torque. Also, it supports the DC fast charging of 130 KW, doing 10 to 80 percent in just 40 minutes.
What Is Baas?
In the most simple language, BaaS is buying the electric vehicle without buying the battery but renting it. Now, under the battery-as-scheme, the company changes the battery cost per km, and MG is charging Rs 8 per km for their premium cars, the Cyberstar and the M9. That brings the entry price of an EV down, since you only pay for the distance you actually drive.
