One of the most anticipated SUVs of 2021 is the new Mahindra XUV700. The unveiling of the Mahindra XUV700 is scheduled for August 14th and here, we explain to you all the features that have been showcased in the SUV till now.
Smart Door Handles
Now, this will be a first-in-segment feature for the upcoming SUV. We've often found this in premium cars like the Range Rover Velar. The smart door handles are basically the flush type that reach out to you when they're needed. So, once the doors are unlocked, the door handles automatically come out so they can be easily grabbed and once the doors are locked, they automatically go back to their place.

Largest Sunroof in the segment
The XUV700 targets the likes of Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus. All these SUVs come with a panoramic sunroof but it is the XUV700 that will get the largest panoramic sunroof measuring 1360 mm by 870 mm.
Auto Booster Headlights
If you're driving the Mahindra XUV700 on completely dark roads and you cross the speed of 80 km/h then the technology inside the SUV will sense that and immediately turn on the extra pair of lights for better illumination at night.
Personalised Safety Alerts
The Mahindra XUV700 is so advanced that it gives you personalised safety alerts so you drive safely on the road. For example, if you are cruising at high speeds then the XUV700 will ask you to slow down in your loved one's voice. This way, there's a personalised touch and not the robotic one that gets irritating at times.
LED Lights
Striking clear-view headlights and arrow-head taillights mark up the way for better illumination at night.
Smart Filter Technology
With the rising pollution in India, everyone wants to breathe clean air. Mahindra XUV700's cabin allows you just that with its smart filter technology. It filters out 99% of bacteria and 95% of viruses as claimed by Mahindra.

Driver Drowsiness Detection
There are times when you are driving on highways and you feel sleepy. Well, the smart technology in the Mahindra XUV700 detects drowsiness and alerts you. This is a feature that is mostly seen on premium cars but now we will see it in this upcoming SUV.
Engine
Powering the Mahindra XUV700 will be a 2.0L Stallion turbo-petrol and a 2.2L mHawk turbo-diesel unit. The petrol is the same unit as the one found in the Thar but will now be tuned to generate as much as 199 bhp. The torque figures will be north of 400 Nm. The diesel too is expected to churn out 183 bhp with 400 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed automatic unit.
