Mahindra recently announced the prices of the much-awaited XUV700. Volkswagen India also recently launched a compact SUV cas Taigun. Taigun is a compact SUV that looks like a mini Tiguan. The car carries a bold dynamic design and a premium in-cabin experience. On the other hand, XUV700 is an SUV that looks huge, modern, and futuristic with its newly designed front fascia. Mahindra XUV700 vs VW Taigun Interior & Features Comparison

Volkswagen Taigun is the first made-in-India product to be launched in the market. VW has introduced first-in-segment infinity LED tail lights which run across seamlessly from one edge to another with an endless beam of light. It looks muscular and bolder with its elevated bonnet design equipped with a 3D signature chrome grille.

The compact SUV comes with LED headlamps with integrated DRLs for better illumination, electric sunroof, trapezoidal chrome wings and the big updated VW logo on the grille gives the car a striking design language. 

Taking a look at the interior of the car, Taigun carries a classy, sporty, and premium ambience from inside. The car comes with a dual tone premium interior, ambient lightning, leatherette seat upholstery, and a folding rear backrest with 60:40 ratio. For a sporty driving experience, VW has introduced paddle shifters.

When it comes to technology, Taigun with automatic trim features a 8-inch digital cockpit with an artistic, customizable user interface that allows switching between analog and digital themes. The 10-inch infotainment cluster also supports wireless connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The instrument cluster is equipped with applications such as Syfic navigation which can be accessed without the internet also, Gaana, Booking.com, and audiobooks.

The new VW Taigun has a 6-speaker surround sound system, wireless charging for supported smartphones, and My VW Connect ensuring that the user is connected with the car even from far apart.  Taigun comes with a new flat-mode leather steering wheel with multiple functions available for instrument cluster, voice command, cruise control and digital cockpit. To kickstart everyday hustle, the car comes with a keyless entry.

To make the interior more classy and modern, VW introduced smart touch climatronic AC that works with just a touch. In its 1.0-litre variants, it also offers front ventilated seats. These were some extraordinary features inside out which VW is offering with its all-new Taigun. The Mahindra XUV700 has to be one of the most-awaited cars of 2021.  The SUV looks attractive inside out. Looking at the front fascia, the SUV has an unmissable Satin-Chrome Grille engraved with the new Mahindras logo, LED headlamps with a new clear-view design that looks stylish and striking, diamond-cut 18-inch alloy wheels, first-in-segment smart door handles, and an arrow-head LED tail lights that look distinctive and futuristic.

Mahindra has already revealed the prices and variants available of its upcoming XUV700 and has also commenced with its booking and test drives. The car is available with five-seater and seven-seater options with a petrol and diesel engine option. Whereas, Taigun is only available with petrol engine options.

Mahindra XUV700 is available with petrol and diesel options. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol TGDi engine and the 2.2-litre turbo diesel with CRDi engine. On the other hand, VW offers two petrol engine options. 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI EVO engines are available.

XUV700 is a combination of features, creature comforts, connectivity, performance, and safety. With the top-of-the-line trims, it comes with a luxury pack of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) which further assists the driver with Adaptive Cruise Control that adapts the speed according to the traffic around you,  High Beam Assist that automatically switches to low-beam in case of on-going traffic, and Traffic Sign Recognition that wont let the driver miss out any of the road-signs. 

Just like Mercedes, Mahindra has introduced a Dual HD Superscreen which is a powerhouse of entertainment supported by the latest AdrenoX technology. It's a smart connected technology that allows you to access your car with the help of a smartphone application. With the help of that app the owner can start/stop the engine, control the climate settings, lock/unlock, and much more.

It comes with a built-in Alexa, automatic two-zone climate control, 3D sound technology, driver drowsiness detection which asks for tea break, some intuitive drive modes, blind view monitoring system, and continuous digital video recording.

Both the SUVs are aggressively priced. Volkswagen Taigun starts at Rs 10.49 lakhs and goes up to Rs 17.49 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Mahindra XUV700 starts at Rs 11.99 lakhs and goes up to Rs 21.59 lakhs (ex-showroom).
