Maruti Suzuki has proudly declared that its compact SUV, the Maruti Fronx, part of the Nexa lineup, has successfully surpassed the remarkable milestone of 100,000 unit sales. This achievement was attained within a span of approximately 300 days, equivalent to around 10 months. Maruti Suzuki attributes Fronx's achievement of crossing the 100,000 sales mark to its resilience amid semiconductor-related delivery delays in the initial three months. Despite these challenges, Fronx now registers monthly sales ranging from 12,000 to 14,200 units through Nexa outlets. Maruti notes that the Fronx appeals to a predominantly youthful demographic, with an average owner age below 35, and primarily targets first-time urban buyers.

The Fronx currently commands a 12 percent share in the SUV market, with its entry-level market share witnessing a significant rise from 17 percent to 30 percent. Despite overlapping with the Baleno in pricing, the Fronx has successfully carved its niche, attracting customers seeking an entry-level compact SUV. Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki reports a growth of over five percent in Baleno sales over the past year.

Powertrain

The Fronx offers versatility with two powertrain options. The first is a 1.2-litre petrol engine, delivering 90hp and 113Nm, available with a 5-speed manual and AMT transmission. Alternatively, there's a 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine, generating 100hp and 148Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter. Maruti Suzuki notes that approximately 7 percent of Fronx customers opt for the Boosterjet engine, showcasing a notable preference for this performance-oriented variant.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx, built on the same platform as the Baleno, comes in five distinct variants  Sigma, Delta, Delta Plus, Zeta, and Alpha. The pricing for the model spans from Rs. 7.47 lakh to Rs. 13.14 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom), providing customers with a range of options to suit their preferences and requirements.
